Cubigo Co-Designs the Blueprint for an Innovative & Future-Proof Ecosystem for Aging in Place
With the aging population, the rising demand for elderly care and the increasing shortage of care professionals, rethinking and reshaping the organization of care for older adults is inevitable.
Alongside our great group of project partners (Zorgband Leie en Schelde, Fallow, and ZorgLab Aalst) we will work 15 months on this groundbreaking initiative, supported by the Interreg CrossCare 2.0 Innovation Fund.
The cutting-edge concept is set to revolutionize the way we think about elderly care. It introduces a tailored ‘active adult’ ecosystem that fosters purposeful co-living arrangements between older and younger generations, all supported by an active network of volunteers and caregivers. It aims for participation and inclusivity, blending care functions with other social activities to promote participation in community life.
The Cubigo platform will be the backbone to support this ‘aging in place’ community. The platform enhances the operational processes managed from the central care hub and it’s associated partners, ensuring seamless interaction and support.
The project focuses on rethinking and redistributing elderly care, starting from a central, multi-functional hub, reinforced by informal care from caregivers, neighbors, and local community initiatives. This approach is in line with European health policies, particularly under the Belgian presidency of the EU in 2024, which advocates for an inclusive care ecosystem.
